Chasing Tales

The example of infinity is both very important and very abundant.  We can observe infinity all around us if we allow ourselves time to go to nature.  Going to nature signifies different things for different people but for the purpose of this posting consider that by virtue of being alive we are an extension of nature that in its very essence is infinite.

If you live outside of a city, someplace where you can easily go outside and see a sky, a mountain range, a sharp horizon line, a large body of water, agricultural fields or even expansive deserts, you will probably note with more ease the vastness to which I am alluding.  If you let your eyes surrender to a point or even let them glaze over and draw in the entire landscape in a blur, you will without question be confronted with a reverberating presence.  Perhaps some or many of you have experienced this presence, it makes your breathing adjust to it.  It is utterly significant and once it has touched you it is likely you will continue to seek it and know it.

For those of us who live in cities it is sometimes more difficult to sense the presence of infinity that we are.  We tend to be busier and more scattered and make less time to find time for ourselves.  Ha!  However cultivating that time and discipline to connect with our infinite selves is literally mind and life altering.  There are many forms of doing this but one of the most common is meditation.  I practice meditation with pranayama and kriya techniques and I have received innumerable gifts from accepting this practice.  Much like observing a horizon line on the ocean, meditation opens channels to a quietness in ourselves that vibrates with infinity.  Unstruck Sound.

We can lean on these observations to understand what patterns we have assimilated into our living that literally defy nature.  For most of us the pattern of frantically and strictly observing, or conversely, completely disregarding time will probably feel familiar.

Nature shows us that it does not wait for anyone or anything, it moves along cyclically, patiently and altogether unaware of itself, it just is.  It knows when the flowers should bloom, it knows when the tides should rise, it knows when they lava should flow.  Meditation teaches us that at the very core of our being we cannot be corrupted by the illusion of fragmentation, that when we merge with our selves we are also merging with something that exists outside of time.  This is a deep knowing that will lead us all to freedom.

With so much love and gratitude,
Nicole
